The Treasury Business Solutions (TBS) team is a crucial business ally, managing Technology, Security, and Knowledge and Information Management. With offices in London, Norwich, and Darlington, the TBS Security team oversees the Treasury's security operations program, covering cyber and information assurance, continuity and resilience, personnel, and physical security.
As a Cyber Operations Lead, your role is pivotal in safeguarding HM Treasury from diverse cyber and technical threats. You will guide the SOC team in protective monitoring and incident-response activities, proactively addressing and mitigating potential issues. Your responsibilities extend to evaluating the current service and implementing measures for improvement. Collaborating with government partners, you will enhance capabilities, develop your team, and ensure the identification and protection against emerging cyber threats.
As a motivating leader, you will:
- Lead monitoring and response operations for our corporate IT systems.
- Collaborate with the National Cyber Security Centre and Government Cyber Coordination Centre (GC3), cyber/IT security colleagues, and supplier partners.
- Lead cyber incident response exercises with partners and staff.
- Work with cyber assurance, compliance, and IT service teams to deliver a cohesive service.
- Stay informed about geopolitical and domestic activities and technical developments that could elevate cyber risk.
- Manage two cyber security apprentices, nurturing their knowledge and expertise within government cyber security.
About You
As a leader, you will steer a high-performing team to deliver quality service efficiently in cyber operations. Your ability to learn, develop, and apply cyber security risk management skills is essential. You should effectively articulate complex problems and solutions, tailoring your communication to different audiences. Demonstrable experience in cyber security risks, incident response, and vulnerability management is crucial, especially when advising senior officials.
